Native American Astrology The Wheel
In the Native American tradition, everything in life forms a circle, the circle of life. Noticing the Sun moves in a circle, from morning to night and back again to yet another morning. From the waxing and waning of the Moon, from the full moon to the dark moon and back. The Moon too moves in a circle.
Through observation of the changing seasons, Earth itself is the giant wheel. Native Americans created the Medicine Wheel as an expression of all of these life circles and cycles. The Medicine Wheel showed that everything in life was interconnected and knowing of each other. Altogether forming one complete whole. The Medicine Wheel represents the whole of creation.
The Medicine Wheel And The Twelve Moons
The Native American people work with the flow of the twelve moons. Understanding the cycle of the seasons, a turn of the wheel. The twelve moons, along with the four seasons, found their place on the Medicine Wheel. Each of these moons has its own set of animal, mineral, and plant totems (as well as others). And each of these totems possessed certain qualities that could be passed onto others. Depending on the moon under which they were born. © as channelled by psychic medium Ian Scott. – Nature’s Oracle Cards
